As of 16:00 on 19 January, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the active combat situation at the frontline. Since the beginning of the day, 125 combat engagements have been recorded, most of which resulted in successful repulsion of enemy attacks. Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, destroying its plans.
Situation in the following areas:
- Kharkiv sector: Russian troops twice tried to attack Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk with the support of attack aircraft, and also launched an air strike near Vovchansky Khutory. All enemy attempts were unsuccessful.
- Kupyansk sector: The enemy made seven attacks in the areas of Stroyivka, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove and Lozova. Four of the attacks were successfully repelled, three more are ongoing.
- Liman sector: 14 firefights took place near Novoyehorivka, Nadiya, Novosergiyivka, Novosadove, Zarichne, Kolodyazy, Zelena Dolyna, Terny and in Serebryanske forestry. Seven of the hostilities remain active.
- Kramatorsk sector: The enemy attacked in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Bila Hora seven times, five of which are ongoing.
- Toretsk sector: 17 attacks were registered near Toretsk, Diliyivka and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian troops repelled 11 attacks, six more are ongoing.
- Pokrovsk sector remains one of the hottest areas of the frontline. Over the day, 62 clashes took place in the areas of Zelene Pole, Oleksandropol, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk and other localities. Ukrainian troops continue to fight in 15 active firefights.
- Novopavlivka sector: The enemy carried out 12 attacks in the areas of Kostiantynopil and Velyka Novosilka, four of which are still ongoing. The aggressor also launched an air strike with unguided missiles on Novopil.
Shelling from the territory of Russia:
The Russian army shelled the border areas of Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions with artillery, causing damage to the civilian population. In particular, attacks with unguided aerial missiles were recorded in the settlements of Oleksandrivka (Sumy region) and Hremyach (Chernihiv region).
Ukrainian troops continue to deplete the enemy along the front line and in its rear, demonstrating resilience and courage in the fight for every frontier.
