President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conference call on the energy situation in the country’s regions. During the discussion, he specifically stressed the need for the Air Force to act much more swiftly to protect border regions from drone attacks.

Zelenskyy said the Air Force must operate far more quickly to expand protection for the Kharkiv region and other areas bordering Russia against Shahed drones and other attack UAVs. He emphasised that Ukraine has no time to wait for individual elements of the Air Force to adjust.

He noted that reports from the Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava regions were discussed in detail, as these areas currently face the most difficult electricity supply situation. In some communities, problems are not being resolved in a timely manner, and conclusions must be drawn from this.

Zelenskyy also pointed to issues in cities of the Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly Kryvyi Rih, where local authorities’ responses to prolonged power outages and related problems are often delayed.

The president added that additional measures are being taken in some communities of the Odesa region to support residents whose homes rely on electric heating. He stressed that local authorities must provide clear answers for each such building regarding real support for people.

In addition, the Interior Ministry reported receiving additional equipment from partners, including generators, which will strengthen reserves for rapid response. Zelenskyy thanked international partners for supporting Ukraine, its cities and communities.
