President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported about a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the parties discussed the cessation of the war, sanctions against Russia, and further defense cooperation.

About this, Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote in Telegram.

“The key thing is, of course, the cessation of the war. We are grateful to the U.S. President for all efforts toward a fair and lasting peace. It is truly necessary to stop the killings as soon as possible, and we fully support this,” Zelenskyy stated.

The leaders of the countries coordinated the positions of Ukraine and the USA and also exchanged assessments regarding the intensification of Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy noted that Trump is informed about the latest strikes on Kyiv and other cities. The conversation also discussed sanctions against Russia, which, in Zelenskyy’s opinion, have a serious impact on its economy.

Special attention was given to international defense assistance. Zelenskyy thanked the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark for over a billion dollars directed toward the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine. Additionally, the Ukrainian side has prepared a draft bilateral agreement with the USA regarding cooperation in the field of drones. The President emphasized readiness to discuss and conclude this agreement in the nearest future.
