Chaus, meanwhile, said three of the injured were in intensive care. Medical teams are providing them with the necessary assistance.

One of the Russian drones struck the supermarket. Vehicles and a service station were damaged at other strike sites.

Emergency services are working at the affected locations. Information about the consequences of the attacks is still being clarified.

Zelenskyy: The strike had no military purpose

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the attack on the Chernihiv supermarket as a cynical strike against civilians.

“The Russians continue to ‘defeat’ ordinary civilian sites. An absolutely cynical drone strike on an ordinary supermarket in Chernihiv. They attacked people directly, without any military purpose,” he said.

The president expressed condolences to the relatives of those killed and said assistance was being provided to the injured.

Zelenskyy also mentioned a Russian aerial bomb attack on Zaporizhzhia, which killed one person and injured another.

“This is deliberate Russian terror that has no military justification. Stronger sanctions against Russia are needed, along with more support for Ukraine, more means to protect our skies and more capabilities for our warriors,” the president said.
