Ukraine has experience in unblocking maritime routes and is ready to share it with partners, but no country has requested practical assistance regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The discussion is limited to sharing experience.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with AP.

According to him, Ukraine faced a similar situation when Russia blocked the grain corridor in the Black Sea. At that time, Russian forces used a wide range of means — from ships to missiles and aircraft.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine managed to force the Russian Black Sea Fleet to retreat, including by striking part of it, after which convoys of civilian vessels were organized using naval drones. The corridor is now under Ukraine’s control and continues to operate.

The president emphasized that this experience could be useful for other countries, but so far partners have only shown interest in it without inviting Ukraine to participate in operations in the Strait of Hormuz area.

At the same time, Zelenskyy said that Russia is transferring its military experience to Iran, including satellite intelligence on Israel’s energy infrastructure, which helps carry out strikes on civilian targets.

He also stressed that Russia does not show readiness for compromise and instead issues ultimatums, seeking to force Ukraine to withdraw from its own territories. According to him, this is linked to heavy losses of the Russian army, but Ukraine cannot agree to such terms due to the risk of further occupation.

Zelenskyy emphasized the need to stop Russia, achieve a ceasefire, and secure reliable security guarantees.
