Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting in New York with executives of more than 30 leading US companies, members of the International Advisory Group on attracting investment to Ukraine and developing priority economic sectors, as well as US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Jonathan Greenstein. The main topics included new investments in defence technologies, energy, reconstruction and support for Ukraine’s economy.

The meeting was attended by executives from Citigroup, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Lazard, Macquarie, State Street, Jane Street, Fairfax, Fortescue, FedEx, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, Shield AI, Day & Zimmermann, Prospera, McKinsey & Company, the US Chamber of Commerce and the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
Representatives of the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, members of the International Advisory Group on investment attraction and priority economic sectors, as well as US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Jonathan Greenstein also took part in the meeting.
The participants discussed support for Ukraine during the winter period, the development of the Ukrainian economy and measures to protect civilians.
According to the Office of the President, new investments in defence technologies and joint production projects are expected. The parties also reached agreements on cooperation in the energy sector and energy storage.
The meeting also covered the development of the capital market, as well as the experience of special economic zones and industrial parks for the reconstruction of Ukrainian regions.
The participants discussed the development of Ukraine’s economic strategy with the support of members of the International Advisory Group and the implementation of projects in priority sectors.
Special attention was paid to the work of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund and new investments that the fund and the DFC are preparing in the near future. The parties also discussed war-risk insurance instruments and financing opportunities available to US investors.
Zelenskyy invited the participants to join joint efforts on priority investment projects and mechanisms for their implementation.
