President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Czech President Petr Pavel during his visit to Prague. Zelenskyy shared details of the meeting in a social media post.

He thanked Czechia for its steadfast and principled support of Ukraine, both in defending lives from Russian attacks and on the diplomatic front. Zelenskyy highlighted the success of the Czech artillery initiative: last year, Czechia significantly helped Ukraine with artillery shells, and this year the two countries are discussing the supply of up to 1.8 million more shells.

The two presidents also discussed the creation of a joint Ukrainian-Czech F-16 pilot training school. According to Zelenskyy, it is currently not possible to open such a base in Ukraine due to ongoing Russian attacks. Therefore, Ukraine is working with international partners to establish the training facilities abroad, with Czechia committed to supporting the initiative.

The leaders also focused on ongoing diplomatic efforts and coordination with key partners, including the United States and European countries, to further increase pressure on Russia.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the Czech people, government, and President Pavel for their respect toward the Ukrainian community and for the blue-and-yellow flags visible on the streets of Prague, noting that Ukraine deeply values all the attention, assistance, and solidarity.
