Ukraine is already feeling the effects of the war in Iran, particularly due to a shortage of missiles for Patriot systems. A protracted conflict could lead to a reduction in aid to Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in an interview with the German broadcaster ZDF.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the war in Iran is having a negative impact on Ukraine. According to him, the situation is already affecting the supply of weapons.
“If the war drags on, there will be fewer weapons for Ukraine. We already have such a shortage; it can’t get any worse,” the president said, commenting on the situation with missiles for the Patriot air defense systems.
Zelenskyy also called the war in Iran “a war of the whole world” and “a challenge for everyone.” Separately, he stated Ukraine’s readiness to join efforts to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that the country has relevant experience following operations in the Black Sea. At the same time, he said, the U.S. has not approached Ukraine with such a request.
