        Zelenskyy arrives at G7 summit in France and meets Macron

        On June 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Evian, France, to take part in the G7 summit. He was welcomed at the venue by French President Emmanuel Macron, Reuters reports.

        “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has just arrived at the summit, where he was greeted by French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron hugged Zelenskyy and shook his hand. They did not answer questions from reporters as they walked into the venue,” the report said.

        The first summit session on Tuesday is dedicated to Ukraine and is being held in the format of a working group.

        According to Suspilne, G7 leaders and the President of Ukraine will take part in a working meeting focused on peace and security for Ukraine and Europe.

        Zelenskyy is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with the prime ministers of Canada and the United Kingdom, the Chancellor of Germany, and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

        Earlier, the Ukrainian president said he had agreed to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the summit.

        The G7 summit is being held on June 15–17 in the French city of Evian-les-Bains on the shores of Lake Geneva. Key topics include potential peace negotiations to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the situation surrounding Iran, including a possible agreement with the United States and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
