Ukraine is preparing additional ammunition deliveries for F-16 fighter jets, and relevant agreements with partners are already in place. Combat aircraft, along with mobile fire teams and units protecting critical facilities, are being used to destroy Russian attack drones.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this following a coordination meeting on the consequences of Russian strikes and the energy supply situation in the regions.

According to the president, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Air Force reported on the use of combat aviation to shoot down Shahed drones, as well as on the work of units protecting energy and infrastructure facilities and mobile fire teams.

“We are preparing additional supplies of ammunition for F-16s: relevant agreements with our partners are already in place,” Zelenskyy said.

Kyiv faces the most difficult energy situation

The meeting also focused on electricity and water supply following Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy said the most difficult situation is currently in Kyiv, where residents and businesses are facing prolonged power and water outages.

The president linked the problems both to Russian strikes on the energy sector and to the failure to implement decisions at the city level regarding preparations for the heating season.

According to him, the government is providing additional equipment and working to speed up restoration efforts.

Ukraine has also reached agreements with Germany and Spain on supplies of generators, cables and other necessary equipment.

Additional crews and Armed Forces capabilities involved in restoration

The meeting also included reports on the situation in Dnipro, Kharkiv, as well as the Poltava, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Kyiv regions.

Representatives of both state-owned and private energy companies discussed the need to deploy additional emergency crews and accelerate restoration work.

The prime minister reported on the launch of a program of monthly additional payments for workers involved in restoration efforts, including energy workers, utility employees, railway staff and workers at water treatment and water supply facilities.

Zelenskyy also said that designated capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being used to help restore the power grid and energy facilities.

The prime minister also received separate instructions regarding communication with neighboring countries and the operation of export solidarity lines.
