President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced further personnel changes at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) amid an investigation into crimes linked to the so-called “Khimprom” organization. He also approved a draft law restoring mandatory asset declarations for all SBU employees and urged the Ukrainian parliament to adopt it without delay.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in a statement.

According to the president, the events surrounding the SBU this week have been disgraceful and unacceptable. Some employees have already been dismissed as a result, and further personnel decisions are expected.

“Unfortunately, this week has brought entirely different news about the SBU — frankly unpleasant, frankly disgraceful, absolutely unacceptable things. There have already been dismissals in the Security Service of Ukraine because of this, and there will be further personnel decisions,” the president said.

Zelenskyy stressed that the investigation must establish all the circumstances of the case and that those who ordered crimes and acts of violence against people must be held accountable.

The president also said international support is needed to investigate the activities of the so-called “Khimprom” organization. According to him, the relevant issues have already been discussed with the United States.

“There is information that this criminal has already begun his operations in Poland. There is also information that he is trying to enter Germany with synthetic drugs. We will share all the information we have with our partners,” Zelenskyy said.

Separately, the president announced a legislative initiative to restore mandatory asset declarations for SBU employees.

“Today, I also approved a draft law restoring asset declarations for all SBU employees, so that their lifestyles and everything they possess can be subject to scrutiny and accountability,” the president said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the same requirements should apply to SBU employees as to representatives of other government bodies, including those outside law enforcement.

The president called on Ukrainian lawmakers to adopt the legislation without delay.
