President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in the latter part of September. The purpose is to discuss the supply of missiles to protect Ukraine from ballistic strikes.

According to Zelenskyy, the U.S. side has already received specific information from Kyiv on Ukraine’s missile defense needs and the desired delivery timelines. This information was passed to Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Ukraine is also working on its own missile program, “Freyja,” and expects support from the United States and European partners. However, until this work produces the necessary result, Kyiv needs U.S. interceptor missiles.
“I expect to meet with Trump in the latter part of September. To raise this issue. And God willing, there will be a result,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also referred to the latest massive Russian attack. According to him, Russia used about 180 aerial targets, around 90% of which were destroyed, but the situation with ballistic missiles remains significantly more difficult.
Separately, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the United States continue to prepare further negotiating steps that could later move into a trilateral format.
“We agreed with the American side: let’s prepare all of this between ourselves first, and then we will communicate it,” he added.
