President Volodymyr Zelensky shared an update on social media following a briefing from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi regarding the front-line situation and Ukrainian operations on Russian territory.
He highlighted the Pokrovsk sector as a key area of concern, where 51 intense combat engagements took place over the past day. Ukrainian units are holding their positions, and Zelensky stressed that “every eliminated occupier is of great value.”
The President thanked the Commander-in-Chief for successfully disrupting Russia’s plan to advance in the Sumy region. Despite this area remaining a priority target for the enemy, Ukrainian forces are consistently blocking Russian attempts to push deeper into the region from the border.
Zelensky also noted continued active operations by Ukrainian units both in Sumy and on Russian territory. Additionally, he mentioned progress over the past week in replenishing Ukraine’s prisoner exchange fund.
The meeting also focused on the specific weapons and supplies needed by Ukrainian units. Zelensky said he will discuss increasing arms deliveries with international partners next week.
Separate instructions were given to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council to secure foreign funding for drone production. According to Zelensky, this year’s drone output has already surpassed expectations made at the beginning of the year.
The President also reported a briefing from the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service on the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia. He stated that sanctions have significantly slowed Russia’s economic potential, and Ukraine has identified additional areas that could further damage the aggressor.
The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence also delivered a classified report. “No details,” Zelensky wrote, “but the aggressor will feel everything exactly as needed.”
