President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia is not preparing for a transition to peacetime and plans to continue military operations at the current level. At the same time, Ukraine is ready for full-fledged negotiations for the sake of lasting peace.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in his address following reports from the security and defence sector leadership.

According to him, the head of military intelligence, Oleg Ivashchenko, reported on Russia’s current military plans, which indicate a lack of preparation for peacetime.

The president stressed that the Russian side is preparing to continue its attacks at the same level as now.

Ukraine will share intelligence information about these plans with its partners. Zelensky emphasised that the only factor that can change Russia’s behaviour is economic pressure, as it is the economic losses from the war that Moscow takes into account.

He also noted that Ukraine will continue to inform its partners about the cooperation of Chinese entities with Russia, in particular regarding ways to circumvent sanctions imposed for aggression against Ukraine.

Separately, Zelensky reported on numerous reports from Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, who is in constant contact with the American side. According to the president, Ukraine is ready for meetings and all formats of effective work, but they must be comprehensive and comply with previous agreements between the teams.

Zelensky emphasised that all the decisions made must be implemented in order to achieve a dignified and lasting peace, and that Russia must recognise that peace is also necessary for it.
