President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on social media on the new wave of Russian strikes on Ukraine, calling them a continuation of aerial terror against cities and infrastructure.

According to the head of state, Russia launched 96 attack drones last night, most of which were shot down, but some still reached their targets. “Last night, aerial bombs were dropped on Kharkiv, on the city hospital, injuring 57 people. This was an absolutely terrorist, cynical strike on a place where lives are being saved,” Zelensky said.

He reported that the attacks also targeted energy infrastructure in several regions. In particular, civilian and railway infrastructure in two villages in the Kirovohrad region was damaged, energy facilities and an enterprise in the Sumy region were damaged, and civilian targets were also hit in the Donetsk region.

The president thanked all the services working on the ground to repair the damage caused by the attacks.

Zelensky emphasised that the world is capable of depriving Moscow of the ability to carry out such strikes. ‘Our partners know what is needed for this: Patriot, NASAMS, SAMP/T, and other vital systems. We are counting on the actions of the United States, Europe, and the G7,’ he said.

The head of state stressed that Ukraine needs enough air defence systems to protect its skies from missiles, drones and guided bombs. ‘The world must force Moscow to sit down at the table for real negotiations. Only peace through strength can bring results,’ Zelenskyy concluded.
