On the night of 8 July, western Ukraine was hit by severe weather, which led to power outages, train delays and the temporary closure of one of the border crossings with Hungary.
According to energy companies, power supply problems have been reported in Rivne, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Lviv regions.

Ukrzaliznytsia warned that due to stormy weather in Zakarpattia, as well as in Slovakia and Hungary, there may be changes in the passenger train schedule.
Meanwhile, the State Border Service reported that the Dzvinkove-Lonyia checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border is temporarily closed due to the elimination of the consequences of bad weather. Citizens are advised to use alternative checkpoints – Kosyno or Velyka Padal.
