The Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces has published photos taken by the 57th Brigade in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Oblast. They show the scale of the destruction and human suffering. The city, once full of life, has now been transformed into a wounded but unbreakable outpost of Ukrainian resistance.
‘It was a thriving city. Now it is a wound on the map of Ukraine,’ said the 57th separate motorised infantry brigade named after Koshevoy Ataman Kostya Gordienko. According to the military, the publication of these images is intended to show the true face of the so-called ‘Russian world’ that has brought death, pain and ruin to Ukrainian soil.
The brigade emphasises that Vovchansk, although devastated by shelling and enemy attacks, remains unconquered. The defenders stressed that they will not forget or forgive what the enemy has done and promise that every destroyed house and every petal trampled by enemy boots will be restored.
Photos from the city have become another symbol of how Ukrainians are holding on despite everything, and a reminder to the world of the price of freedom.
