22-year-old athlete from Druzhkivka, Olha Ivzhenko, has won three gold medals at the European U23 Weightlifting Championships taking place in Albania, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine reported.
Competing in the 58 kg weight category, the Ukrainian weightlifter dominated her rivals, claiming victory in all three disciplines:
- snatch — 95 kg,
- clean and jerk — 115 kg,
- total — 210 kg.
Ivzhenko’s advantage over her nearest competitor reached 21 kg, earning her the title of absolute European U23 champion.
The ministry noted that the championship will continue until November 4 and called on Ukrainians to support the national weightlifting team as they continue to compete in Albania.
