On the night of August 16, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Russian military-industrial facility Kombinat Kamensky in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov region. A fire broke out at the site.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
Kombinat Kamensky produces solid rocket fuel for munitions used by the Uragan, Smerch and Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, as well as for a number of missile systems and air-launched weapons.
The General Staff said the plant’s products are used to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces. The extent of the damage caused by the strike is still being assessed.
The General Staff also confirmed that the Zapsibneftekhim plant in Tobolsk, Tyumen region, was shut down following an August 10 strike on its Central Gas Fractionation Unit No. 1.
Zapsibneftekhim is one of Russia’s largest petrochemical complexes. It processes hydrocarbon feedstock and produces polymers and other petrochemical products which, according to the General Staff, are used, among other purposes, to support Russia’s military-industrial complex.
In addition, the results of an August 11 strike on the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Orsk, Orenburg region, have been confirmed.
According to the General Staff, the strike hit a hydrocracking unit, the ELOU-AVT-3, ELOU-AVT-6 and ELOU-AT primary oil refining units, as well as the 22-4M5 secondary distillation unit for light petroleum fractions.
Orsknefteorgsintez produces gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil and other products. The General Staff says its products are used to meet the needs of the Russian military and military-industrial complex.
