Ukraine’s Defense Forces have liberated the villages of Shandryholove and Derylove in Donetsk Oblast. Ukrainian troops have also advanced near Shandryholove.

This was reported by the analytical project DeepState.

Both settlements are part of the Lyman urban community in Kramatorsk district, Donetsk Oblast, and are located in the combat zone on the Lyman axis.

Shandryholove is located northwest of Lyman, near the Nitrius River. Derylove lies south of Shandryholove, about 3.5 km away and approximately 2.5 km north of Drobysheve.

This area is important for the northern approaches to Lyman. Russian forces had previously advanced along the Serednie-Shandryholove and Derylove-Kolodiazi lines, seeking to develop their offensive toward the city from the north.

Ukrainian forces have already made gains in this area over the past week. On September 15, DeepState reported the liberation of the neighboring village of Serednie and the pushing back of Russian troops near Shandryholove.

The latest update to the DeepState map indicates a further expansion of the territory brought back under Ukrainian control north of Lyman. At the time of publication, however, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had not separately announced the official liberation of Shandryholove and Derylove.
