Ukrainian athletes Eva Serdyuk and Darya Romanyuk won the European Beach Volleyball Championship among players under 22. The tournament was held from August 14 to 17 in Baden, Austria. This is the first gold for Ukraine in this sport.

In the group stage, Serdyuk and Romanyuk won three victories with a score of 2:0, which allowed them to directly advance to the 1/8 finals. There, the Ukrainians defeated the team from Slovakia, in the quarterfinals – representatives of Norway, and in the semifinals they defeated the Swiss duo Muriel Bossart and Lioni Kernen.
In the final, the Ukrainian volleyball players met with the Pavelkova sisters from the Czech Republic and won 2:0. They became the first pair in the tournament’s history to win gold without losing a single set among both men and women.
