The Ukrainian Defense Forces have started shooting down russian Shahed attack drones with FPV drones.

Vadym Sukharevskyi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, said this in an interview with Liga.net.

“When the Shaheds flew at us from Russia, we quickly set up thousands of mobile fire groups that proved highly effective. The Russians began to change their tactics, to change altitudes. What have we moved on to? Now we are starting to shoot down Shahids with FPV drones. And this is already yielding real results,” Sukharevsky noted.

The commander also said that Ukraine is scaling up strikes on military infrastructure in the Russian Federation, but, he points out, this requires enough money and technology.

“Since its creation in 2024, the USF has already conducted more than 220 operations deep into Russian territory, launching more than 3,500 drones. And now they are continuing to work on scaling up the drone strikes,” Sukharevsky added.
