The Ukrainian company Military Armoured Company HUB has created a new multi-purpose Katran maritime strike drone capable of destroying targets at sea, on land and in the air.
Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed the existence of the drone and said it is capable of destroying targets at sea, on land and in the air.
‘Information about the missions with this drone is classified, but it has become a real game changer at sea,’ Fedorov said.
‘The Katran is equipped with torpedoes, a multi-barrel machine gun, and Piorun anti-aircraft missile systems. The drone can cover a distance of more than 1,000 km and can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h.
It is designed for strike and reconnaissance operations and has a built-in system for automatic threat detection and trap shooting.
Since their first deployment in the Black Sea in June 2023, Ukrainian naval drones have evolved from conventional ‘kamikazes’ to reusable, multifunctional vehicles.
