The bodies of another 1,200 dead have been delivered to Ukraine, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including servicemen. The repatriation took place within the framework of the agreements reached in Istanbul, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported.

This is one of the largest stages of the return of bodies during the entire period of the full-scale war. In the near future, experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and investigators from law enforcement agencies will conduct all necessary examinations to identify the deceased.

The operation was jointly provided by representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the State Emergency Service, as well as other law enforcement and defense agencies. A special role was played by the Central Directorate of Civil-Military Cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for the Support of Measures of the Central Military Commission, which transported the bodies and transferred them to specialized institutions for identification.
