Ukraine is launching a new partnership with NVIDIA to build sovereign artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation Mykhailo Fedorov, who noted that this is a matter of national security and data protection. Earlier, as part of the partnership, the AI Factory project was launched, which is intended to ensure the emergence of a powerful state AI infrastructure in Ukraine based on NVIDIA technologies.
According to Fedorov, thanks to the expertise of the world leader in computing solutions, Ukraine will gain access to advanced technologies to create a sustainable and independent AI infrastructure for the state and defence sectors. The initiative covers support for the creation of national infrastructure, talent development and education in the field of artificial intelligence, joint research projects and support for the start-up ecosystem.
The first joint project will be the creation of Diia AI LLM, a sovereign language model trained on Ukrainian data, legislation, and public services. It will become the basis for all AI solutions in the Diia ecosystem, from the assistant on the portal to the future voice assistant in the application.
As part of this work, Ukraine will gain access to NVIDIA’s technologies and professional support, which will allow it to train models faster, optimise costs and create world-class products. Fedorov emphasised that cooperation with NVIDIA is an important step towards building an agentive state that uses artificial intelligence for solutions that help people.
