        “To send a clear message”: EU leaders arrive in Kyiv on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion

        On February 24, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa arrived in Kyiv.

        European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared Europe’s unwavering support for Ukraine.

        “In Kyiv for the tenth time since the start of the war. To reaffirm that Europe stands unwaveringly with Ukraine, financially, militarily, and through this harsh winter. To underscore our enduring commitment to Ukraine’s just fight. And to send a clear message to the Ukrainian people and to the aggressor alike: we will not relent until peace is restored. Peace on Ukraine’s terms,“ the statement said.

        He stressed that the visit of EU leaders to Ukraine on the day that forever divided European history into ‘before’ and ”after” is symbolic.

        “Welcome to Kyiv, dear allies, and thank you for supporting Ukraine today and throughout four years of Russia’s brutal full-scale war,” Sibiga said.
