The Russians attacked with ballistic missiles and drones: Air Force reports successful repulsion of strikes

On the night of 22 December, Russian troops launched a large-scale attack, launching 103 Shahed and other models of attack drones from various directions, including Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Berdiansk. An Iskander-M ballistic missile was also launched from the occupied Crimea towards Kherson region. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

Ukrainian defenders repelled the attack with the involvement of anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and other units of the Defence Forces.

As of 10:00 a.m., 52 attack drones were confirmed downed in 12 regions, including Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia.

In addition, due to the effective counteraction of the Ukrainian military, 44 enemy drones were lost in the area, and one flew towards Belarus.

As a result of the Russian attack in several regions, including Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Kyiv, private businesses, apartment buildings and civilian property were damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the victims were promptly provided with assistance.
