The first Ukrainian-made Bogdana-B towed howitzer is put into service

The 47th Separate Artillery Brigade has received a Ukrainian-made 155mm Bogdana-B towed howitzer.

The brigade’s press service released photos of the deployment and firing of the new system.

‘The Bohdana-B is based on the artillery unit of the Bohdana self-propelled gun and the carriage of the Soviet Giatsint-B gun.

The Bogdan-B prototype was first publicly presented only at the end of last year. It is known that Ukrainian industrialists have been working on it since at least December 2023, Militarnyi writes.

The development of the towed version is not a replacement for the existing Bohdan self-propelled artillery systems, but rather a complement and an opportunity to quickly equip artillery units with a high-quality and long-range system. Towed systems have a number of significant advantages over self-propelled analogues, the key ones being much higher survivability, ease of operation and low cost.
