During a night attack, Russian troops damaged a thermal power plant in Mykolaiv, leaving 46,000 customers without heating.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“This was done deliberately to leave people without heat in sub-zero temperatures and create a humanitarian catastrophe. Currently, 46 thousand subscribers remain without heat supply,” he said.
Utilities are already working to restore heat supply to homes, schools and hospitals. There are 67 heat supply points deployed in the city, and three modular boiler houses are being connected in healthcare facilities.
Shmygal also ordered a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies to determine additional measures to provide heat to the city’s residents.
