Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi paid a working visit to military command bodies and units carrying out tasks as part of the defensive operation in the Donetsk region.
At the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov,” Syrskyi heard a report from Brigadier General Denys Prokopenko and unit commanders. During the visit, further actions and coordination within designated areas of responsibility were discussed, priority tasks were defined, and instructions were issued to address problematic issues.
The Commander-in-Chief also awarded service members who distinguished themselves during combat missions with the honorary badges “Cross of Courage,” “Military Honor Cross,” “Golden Cross,” and “For Conscientious Service.”
Syrskyi also worked with the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces and the 9th Army Corps. Together with commanders, he discussed the situation in their areas of responsibility, changes in the nature of Russian military operations, and ways to strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian units.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, the enemy is trying every day to improve its tactical position and continues attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses. At the same time, despite its advantage in manpower and equipment, Russian forces are suffering significant losses.
Separately, Syrskyi held a meeting with Major Robert Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping.
The Commander-in-Chief stated that combat experience confirms the need to combine active defense, preemptive decision-making, and strikes against the enemy at operational and tactical depth using Middle Strike capabilities. He also emphasized the importance of close cooperation between units and rapid adaptation to changes on the battlefield.
