Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has urged all international partners and organizations to mobilize energy support for Ukraine following a massive Russian missile and drone attack, warning of the risk of a humanitarian crisis.
He made the statement on the social network X.
“Instead of diplomacy and peace talks, Russia continues its brutal strikes against Ukraine. Energy infrastructure and residential buildings across the country were attacked overnight. At least six people were killed, including a young mother and her two small children. Several energy facilities were damaged, leaving communities without electricity, heating, and water,” Sybiha said.
The foreign minister once again appealed to all partners, institutions, and international organizations to urgently mobilize additional energy assistance for Ukraine ahead of winter, to help prevent a humanitarian crisis in the heart of Europe.
According to him, Ukraine needs additional energy resources and funding, mobile power generation units, repair equipment, and enhanced air defense capabilities.
“This is urgent, and we will be grateful for every new announcement,” Sybiha stressed.
He added that the latest attack proves, as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said, that Russia still does not feel enough pressure to stop the war. In this context, he called on the international community to abandon self-deception and demonstrate strength.
“New strong sanctions. New decisions on frozen assets. New reinforcement of Ukraine’s air defense and long-range capabilities,” Sybiha emphasized.
