On the night of December 20–21, 2025, a fire broke out at a Russian military airfield near Lipetsk, destroying two enemy fighter jets — a Su-27 and a Su-30, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the HUR, the operation was directly carried out by a representative of the resistance movement against Russia’s criminal regime. As a result, both combat aircraft of the aggressor were disabled inside a protected aircraft hangar.
The intelligence service said the estimated combined value of the two destroyed fighter jets, which Russia used in its war against Ukraine, may reach up to $100 million. The aircraft involved were a Su-27 and a Su-30 with tail numbers “12” and “82.”
Planning of the special operation at the airfield near Lipetsk took about two weeks. Prior study of patrol routes and guard rotation schedules made it possible to covertly enter the Russian military facility, strike the aircraft, and then leave the airfield without obstruction.
