President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced two new sanctions decisions introduced by Ukraine. The measures target Russian energy companies and individuals involved in organizing drone attacks.
Zelenskyy said in his address that Ukraine has aligned its sanctions with the United States and imposed restrictions on Rosneft, its subsidiaries, and companies within the Lukoil group. According to him, these sanctions are already significantly depriving “Russia’s war machine” of funding, and this pressure must continue.
Ukraine is also introducing sanctions against Russian individuals responsible for the systematic killing of Ukrainians with drones. Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine will work with partners to make these sanctions effectively joint and to increase global pressure on the aggressor.
The President outlined key priorities of Ukraine’s sanctions policy through the end of the year: further alignment with partners, preparation of the EU’s 20th sanctions package, strengthened measures against the shadow fleet, Russian military production, collaborators and propagandists. He added that new sanctions steps will be announced soon.
