Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said Russian forces struck a critical infrastructure facility in the city’s Industrial district. One person was injured as a result of the attack.

According to him, the damage is extensive and cannot be fixed quickly. The strike hit a system that provides the city with heating and electricity.

Terekhov said that with each such attack, centralized heat and power supply becomes increasingly difficult. The city’s energy sector is in a very difficult condition, with limited reserves, peak loads and any new damage immediately reducing the ability to stabilize the system.

He stressed that repeated strikes on critical infrastructure prevent the system from fully recovering and force it to operate at the limit of its capacity. Any further attack could make it even harder to maintain stable energy supply and lead to longer and more complex repair work.

Despite the challenges, Terekhov said all services continue to operate. He thanked utility workers, energy specialists and emergency responders who are working under heavy strain and risk to keep Kharkiv supplied with heat and electricity.
