Seven Russian regions have been subjected to a mass drone attack

On the night of 9 November, the Ukrainian armed forces used 50 drones to attack Russia, the Russian Defence Ministry has said. Seven Russian regions were hit at once.

According to the ministry, all the drones were destroyed by air defence systems. Thus, 28 drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, 12 drones were shot down over the Kursk region, 4 drones were shot down over the Novgorod region, and two drones each were shot down over the Smolensk and Tula regions. One drone was also shot down each in the Orel and Tver regions.

Astra reports that the town of Aleksin in the Tula region was attacked, where locals say at least 11 drones were spotted. Tula Region Governor Dmitry Milyaev said a private residential house was damaged in the raid.

Baza reports that the Alexinsk chemical plant was attacked.

The governors of Bryansk and Novgorod regions, Alexander Bogomaz and Andrei Nikitin, said there were no casualties or damage in their regions. In Kursk region, the air alert regime was in effect all night.

We would like to remind you that on the night of 8 November, Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian oil refinery for the first time in two months. The Rosneft refinery in the Saratov region, which has a capacity of 7.2 million tonnes of oil per year, came under attack. As a result, a fire broke out at the facility. The Russian Defence Ministry said it had ‘destroyed’ six drones in the skies over the region.
