The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has shared details of a night operation in the Kerch Bay that took place on December 5-6. “Sea Baby” drones engaged in a battle with Russian helicopters, airplanes and “Raptor” patrol boats that tried to intercept them.
According to the SBU, the Russian pilots, who believed themselves to be hunters, became prey as the drones returned fire.
The drones were equipped with large-caliber machine guns with automatic targeting and auto-capture systems.
“Radio intercepts indicate losses among the Russian crews: there are dead and wounded, and the helicopters have been seriously damaged and need major repairs,” the SBU said.
In addition, the Sea Baby struck a barge that was transporting military equipment and materials for the repair of the Crimean bridge.
The Sea Baby platform is multi-purpose and can be equipped with various types of weapons, including missile systems, flying drones and large-caliber machine guns. The SBU emphasizes the high efficiency of this development, adding that the results of the operations are much larger than can be disclosed at the moment.
