Russians strike at DTEK’s thermal power plants: serious damage has been reported

On the morning of December 25, Russian occupation forces launched a massive attack on DTEK’s thermal power plants. This was reported by the company’s press service.

“The massive attack severely damaged the equipment of the TPPs. After the shelling ended, our power engineers promptly began to eliminate the consequences and restore the equipment,” DTEK said.

The attack was the thirteenth massive attempt to damage the Ukrainian power grid this year and the tenth targeting DTEK’s businesses. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russians have shelled the company’s thermal power plants more than 200 times.

Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko confirmed that Ukraine’s energy sector has once again become the main target of the enemy. Due to the shelling, emergency blackouts were introduced in many parts of Ukraine.
