On the night of 7 March, Russian troops launched a massive attack on energy and gas facilities in various regions of Ukraine, using cruise and ballistic missiles and drones.
This was announced by Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.
According to him, rescue services and power engineers are working to eliminate the consequences, and measures are being taken to stabilise power supply. He urged Ukrainians to take precautions and follow official reports.
Explosions were heard from the east to the west of Ukraine, from Kharkiv to Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
In Kharkiv, a fire broke out at a civilian infrastructure facility as a result of the strike, said the city’s mayor, Igor Terekhov.
An apartment building was also damaged and residents are being evacuated. 5 people have been reported injured.
A critical industrial facility has been hit in Ternopil region, according to the head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Nehoda. There may be restrictions on gas supply
On the evening of 6 March, the occupiers attacked Odesa region. Fires broke out in three private houses there, and critical infrastructure was damaged. There were no casualties.
