On the night of August 6, Russian forces dropped eight guided aerial bombs on Sumy within eight minutes. The attack injured 12 people and damaged a shopping center, stores, houses and cars.
This was reported by Head of the Sumy City Military Administration Serhii Kryvosheienko.
“Within eight minutes at night, the aggressor’s army dropped eight guided aerial bombs on the northern and central parts of Sumy. One of them was neutralized by air defenses. Residential neighborhoods with developed infrastructure were hit,” the statement said.
As of the morning, 12 people were known to have been injured, and their condition was assessed as satisfactory.
The massive airstrike damaged a shopping center, five stores, windows in ten apartment buildings, three private houses and five passenger cars.
Over the past day, Russian forces shelled 37 settlements in Sumy Region. The Russians used guided aerial bombs, attack drones, FPV drones, multiple-launch rocket systems, artillery and mortars.
In the Putyvl community, a 40-year-old woman died after suffering serious injuries in a Russian drone strike. Men aged 71 and 60 were also injured when a drone struck a car.
In the Buryn community, a 37-year-old man was injured in a drone strike on a car. In the Hlukhiv community, a drone struck a vehicle. A 20-year-old man was wounded, while two other men aged 18 and 49 were injured. In the Stepanivka community, a 53-year-old man was injured in a Russian UAV strike.
A 13-year-old girl also died in hospital after being wounded on June 22 in a Russian drone attack on a house in the Znob-Novhorodske community, as did a 59-year-old man who suffered serious injuries on August 1 when a Russian UAV struck his home in the Krasnopillia community.
