On May 5, Russian forces struck the port of Greater Odesa. The attack damaged a civilian vessel flying the Cook Islands flag; the crew was unharmed.

This latest strike targeted civilian shipping. The port is operating while taking security risks into account, and specialized services are addressing the aftermath, the statement said.
It was also reported that Russian UAVs attacked the port infrastructure in Chornomorsk, Odesa region, on the night of May 3. As a result, the “Kernel” terminal for transshipping vegetable oil was damaged.
According to the company, direct hits destroyed and damaged storage tanks, resulting in a spill of over 1,100 tons of product. It is noted that the oil did not enter the sea.
The fire, which engulfed part of the production facilities, has been extinguished. The fire and debris also damaged equipment, office spaces, logistics infrastructure, and four rail tank cars.
One employee was injured by debris. He received medical attention, and his life is not in danger.
“The terminal has temporarily suspended operations, but exports continue—our logistics are diversified, so we are fulfilling all our obligations,” the company stated.
