On the night of December 28, Russian troops continued shelling the Dnipropetrovsk region and Kherson. The consequences of the attacks were reported by regional and city authorities.
According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Vladislav Hayvanenko, the occupiers struck Nikopol with heavy artillery, damaging five apartment buildings and an educational institution. In the Vasylkiv community of the Synelnykivsky district, the enemy attacked with UAVs, destroying two private homes and a farm, and damaging a gas pipeline. There were no casualties or injuries. Air defense forces shot down five drones over the region, according to the Joint Forces Operation.
At the same time, according to information from the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the Russians shelled Kherson in the morning. As a result of the attack, a 75-year-old woman suffered an explosive injury and acute stress reaction and was taken to the hospital.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, reported a massive strike on the city with multiple launch rocket systems, which hit residential areas and critical infrastructure. Part of Kherson was left without electricity, and specialists are assessing the extent of damage to the energy infrastructure and preparing for emergency repair work, taking into account the security situation.
