Russian forces carried out a missile strike on the city of Pryluky in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region on October 7, with one missile hitting a five-storey residential building. Nine people are known to have been killed, including three children. Another 30 people were injured.
Suspilne Chernihiv reported this, citing Chernihiv regional governor Viacheslav Chaus.
A search-and-rescue operation is continuing at the site. Three people, including a child, were rescued from the rubble.
The 30 injured include five children and a police officer.
The missile strike destroyed two sections of an apartment building. Other buildings, the Children’s and Youth Creativity Centre, a business and vehicles were also damaged.
