Russia wants to equate buying Stalker 2 with “sponsoring the Armed Forces of Ukraine”

The shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World may be banned in Russia. This was stated by Anton Gorelkin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.

“I believe that Stalker 2 has every chance of being officially banned in Russia. I don’t think, however, that this will happen based solely on the fact that the developers support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But I don’t rule out that if illegal information is found in the game content after its release, the most severe measures will be taken,” Gorelkin said.

Russian lawyers have expressed concerns about the purchase of the new game by Russians. They emphasize that the actions of Russian users can be interpreted as “terrorist financing”.

As a reminder, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: The Heart of Chernobyl will be released on November 20 – the game will be available on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X/S, and will be immediately available on Game Pass.
