Russia transfers Strategic Missile Forces soldiers to infantry for war against Ukraine

Russia has transferred fighters of the Strategic Missile Forces – nuclear launcher operators – to the infantry for the war against Ukraine.

A video with the corresponding statement was released by Russian activists helping the newly formed unit with material supplies, reports Militarny.

“Today we have re-received communication equipment for the 1st regiment of the Strategic Missile Forces, which performs the tasks of a regular separate rifle regiment in the Kursk direction,” said a Russian activist and volunteer.

He noted that the 1 combined regiment of the Strategic Missile Forces fights as an ordinary infantry unit with small arms in the form of separate battalions. The unit did not receive the necessary communication equipment, so the volunteers gave them civilian Chinese radios.

In his opinion, the reason for their involvement is the lack of mobilization and the acute personnel shortage in the units on the front line.
