On the evening of November 14, Russian troops massively attacked Odesa with drones. The shelling caused problems with heat supply in the city.
According to the State Emergency Service, a church, residential buildings, a store, garages, and vehicles were damaged. Windows were smashed in the buildings, some of the balconies and roofs caught fire.
The main centralized heating pipeline was also damaged by enemy shelling. As a result, the city’s boiler house was temporarily shut down and repairs are underway.
“The damaged branch of the heating network heated 220 apartment buildings (40,000 residents), 7 kindergartens and 4 schools. The boiler house also served one of Odesa’s maternity hospitals. Currently, there are 28 women in labor and 22 babies there. The facility has air conditioners, heaters, a powerful generator and a sufficient fuel supply. At the moment, the maternity hospital can heat itself using its own resources. We are keeping the situation under control,” said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
One person has been killed and 10 injured, including a 9-year-old boy.
