On the night of 7 March, Russia carried out a massive combined attack on Ukraine, using 29 missiles and 480 drones. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
According to him, almost half of the missiles launched were ballistic, and most of the drones were Shahed-type strike drones.
In Kharkiv, a Russian ballistic missile hit a residential building. The strike destroyed the entrance and damaged the upper floors of a neighbouring building.

As of now, seven people are known to have died. More than ten people were injured, including children. People may still be trapped under the rubble, and rescue services are continuing to clear the debris.
In addition, during the attack, Russian troops targeted energy facilities in Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi regions, as well as railway infrastructure in Zhytomyr region. Damage was also reported in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy and Cherkasy regions.
Zelenskiy stressed that such strikes must be met with a response from international partners, as Russia continues to attack residential and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
The president also said that the PURL programme should continue to work just as actively, and that Ukraine is counting on further cooperation with the European Union to strengthen the country’s defences.
