The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that during the night-time massive attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, it allegedly only struck military facilities and industrial enterprises. The ministry reported this in its summary.
The statement does not mention the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers building, which caught fire after the shelling, but claims that ‘no strikes were carried out on other targets within Kyiv.’ According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, the targets were enterprises involved in the production and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as military air bases in the central, southern and eastern regions of Ukraine. Among the specified facilities are an enterprise on the western outskirts of Kyiv and the logistics base of the STS-GROUP company in the south of the city.
At the same time, residential buildings were damaged in Kyiv as a result of the shelling, and a fire broke out in the Cabinet of Ministers building. According to Ukrainian authorities, at least two people were killed – a 32-year-old woman and her two-month-old son. The night attack was a record in terms of the number of drones that Russia used against Ukraine.
