        Russia attacks Turkish vessel off Odesa region, leaving crew members injured

        Russian forces attacked the civilian cargo vessel ANT with a drone overnight as it was sailing from one of the ports in Ukraine’s Odesa region to Turkey. Two crew members were injured in the strike.

        The information was reported by the Ukrainian Navy.

        According to the military, the ANT bulk carrier, sailing under the flag of Vanuatu and owned by a Turkish company, was transporting cargo from a port in the Odesa region to Turkey.

        The drone struck the vessel’s superstructure, causing a fire on board.

        Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service and the Ukrainian Navy, the fire was quickly contained.

        Two injured crew members were evacuated by Ukrainian Navy boats and transported to a medical facility.

        The Navy stressed that Russia continues to threaten international maritime shipping by attacking civilian infrastructure and commercial vessels.

        According to Ukrainian military officials, the strike on the cargo ship was deliberate.
