Putin says he attacked Dnipro with Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russian occupation forces have tested a medium-range Oreshnik ballistic missile. He said this in a statement released on the evening of November 21.

According to Putin, Russia struck a defense industry facility in Dnipro with a non-nuclear hypersonic ballistic missile.

He called his aggression a “response” to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked targets in the Bryansk and Kursk regions on November 19 and 21 using American ATACMS missiles and French-English Storm Shadow missiles.

He also said that the use of the Oreshnik is a response to the fact that the United States plans to produce and deploy medium- and shorter-range missiles.

With particular cynicism, Putin added that Russia would “warn Ukrainian civilians during the testing of systems such as Oreshnik”.
