Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada has approved a bill ratifying an agreement with the European Union on providing Ukraine with a €90 billion loan. A total of 298 lawmakers voted in favor of the decision.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked parliament for the swift adoption of the agreement.
“These funds will strengthen our resilience and help protect the lives of our people, rebuild what was destroyed by Russian strikes, and defend our independence,” the president said.
According to Zelenskyy, this was one of the most important votes, demonstrating constructive cooperation within the government and the country’s ability to remain united.
The president also thanked European partners for supporting Ukraine.
“Ukraine is defending Europe with full force, and full support for Ukraine will certainly strengthen all of Europe as well,” he stressed.
